Sad that Obama has to distance himself from statements like these. Blacks still mistreated by whites? How preposterous. The actions of the US government contributed to the 9/11 attacks? Ludicrous. I could never be a politician. It's the art of not saying what everyone knows is actually true so that we can prop up this kind of fantasy reality which is perhaps the way we'd like things to be, but not the way they are.
